DAY 1 | Juneau to Windham Bay
After a morning exploring Juneau’s attractions and shops, and choosing a local restaurant for lunch, you’ll depart Juneau Harbor aboard the Windham Bay Lodge Catamaran. Enjoy the Stephens Passage coastline as you cruise to Windham Bay Lodge, where a warm welcome awaits. Following a lodge introduction and cocktails, enjoy a delicious dinner of local specialties. An informal history presentation caps off the evening.
DAY 2 | Windham Bay Exploration
After breakfast, paddle up the bay to a beautiful waterfall, then hike with a guide through the rainforest to explore the ruins of the early days of Windham Bay. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the Chuck River Wilderness before paddling back to the lodge. Choose your own activities for the afternoon and re-join the group over dinner. End the day with an optional guided walks (based on tidal and weather conditions)
Day 3 | Fjords & Glaciers! Exploring Tracy Arm or Endicott Arm
After breakfast, head out on Windham Bay Lodge Catamaran to explore the glaciers and wilderness of Tracy Arm and/or Endicott Arm fjords. Enjoy a picnic lunch aboard the catamaran along the way. Kayak near the glaciers or take a side trip to explore Sumdum Bay or Ford’s Terror before returning to the lodge. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure before re-joining your fellow guests at dinner. (Evening cocktails will be chilled with your freshly harvested glacier ice!) End the day with an optional guided walk along one of the local riverbeds.
DAY 4 | Admiralty Island Exploration
Head to Admiralty Island for a day of wilderness exploration and a wildlife safari. Paddle kayaks, beach comb and savor a beach side lunch. After returning to the lodge, spend the afternoon at leisure before a delicious dinner is served. A special entertainment is planned by your lodge staff.
DAY 5 | Windham Bay to Hobart Bay
Spend the morning on a whale- and marine wildlife-viewing expedition. Enjoy a picnic lunch enroute to exclusive Hobart Bay and our wilderness adventure base camp, where a guided adventure riding All Terrain Vehicles into the wilderness awaits. Afterward, cabin check-in aboard the Alaskan Dream Cruises vessel, followed by a ship orientation with senior staff. Meet your fellow guests at dinner.
Enjoy exclusive Hobart Bay and our wilderness adventure base camp, outfitted with sea kayaks, small outboard-driven Zego runabouts, and all-terrain vehicles that provide personal access to the water and wilderness.
DAY 6 | Petersburg & Evening whale watching
Charming Petersburg is a fishing town established by Norwegian fishermen in the late 1800s. At the Sons of Norway Hall, enjoy a Norwegian Folk Dance show performed by Petersburg’s children, and then enjoy time to explore the town.
DAY 7 | Kake & Exploration of east coast of Baranof Island
In this traditional Tlingit Indian village, see the “World’s Largest Totem”, a carving demonstration, a salmon hatchery and a bear viewing platform.
DAY 8 | Arrive in Sitka
Disembark after breakfast
* It is the goal of Windham Bay Lodge team to explore at least one of the locations on Admiralty Island and one glacier in either Tracy Arm Fjord or Endicott Arm Weather conditions apply may alter the itinerary.
