Voters Say We’re Tops for Adventure!

USA Today’s Readers Choice Awards have named Alaskan Dream Cruises one of the 10 best small-ship cruise lines for adventure travel. In fact, we’re actually in the Top 5!

Look through our itineraries, or ask our guests, and it’s easy to see why. No matter the level of activity you want, from exploring captivating ports of call to kayaking through remote Alaska wilderness, we’ve got expeditions that exceed expectations.

Each member of our fleet has a shallow draft, allowing us to get closer to shore than the larger cruise ships. Our vessels carry expedition craft like kayaks, skiffs, or Zodiacs that offer the kind of in-depth exploration that enables our guests to have up close and personal adventures through fjords, around glaciers, and to remote wilderness hiking trailheads.

Our experienced, knowledgeable expedition leaders are always at the ready whether you need help getting into a kayak or you want to take a deep dive into Southeast Alaska’s culture and geology. Itineraries include venturing through Glacier Bay National Park and the Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness Area, as well as the Misty Fjords National Monument and Admiralty Island National Monument.

Our guides also have keen eyes for zeroing in on abundant wildlife viewing sites. On land, it’s common to spy both black and brown bears, mountain goats, and Sitka black tailed deer. You might just get a look at wolf and moose, as well. Depending on when you cruise, migrating humpback whales may show themselves. Orcas, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, Dall’s porpoise, harbor porpoise, and sea otters are also frequently spotted on our expeditions.

As if all that’s not adventure enough, guests can add on pre- or post-cruise expeditions to Denali, Kenai Fjords, Prince William Sound, and more.

It’s no wonder a panel of travel experts, along with 10 Best editors, chose us for the top 20 adventure cruises, and that USA Today readers voted us into the Top 10!
